Friday Fragments #206 - It's About Time!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know. I have "no excuses" for falling off the face of the earth, the dog ate my homework, my fingers had that numbing thing....etc.! Truthfully, I was getting ready to have a garage sale, getting ready to move, and trying to weed my way through 35 years of stuff so I could throw out or give away lots of it to make room for more family storage. Am I the only one who still has wedding gifts in their original boxes? I am? Well then, I guess that does make me just a little bit strange, doesn't it?
I successfully made the move to Chi-Town with my dog and clothes. I currently live in an apartment with my hubs, on a very busy street, with lots of nice neighbors with cute dogs who, of course, don't like mine! We are working on that one! I'm in a suburb of Chicago about 30 miles west of the City. I've been Downtown twice: once in a car when I was given the "Blues Brothers" tour and once on foot when we did Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and then the "where the heck are we" trail totalling about six or seven miles, while all the time wearing the "wrong" shoes! It was wonderful! I want to take a "three-hour tour" on one of those gorgeous yachts!
This is the end of week three. I have made many new friends, become quite adept at Google Maps and mastering the Hubs' TomTom, fallen in love with IKEA all over again, and kissed the sidewalk while walking the dog. I don't normally kiss sidewalks unless a movie star is walking on one. However, yesterday, I was minding my own business while walking the dog and the next thing I knew, I was horizontal on the sidewalk, my glasses a foot away, and some very warm liquid dripping off the side of my face. Yes, not only am I strange, but I am a klutz!
Thanks so much for your visit. Please stop by to read some interesting and funny fragments by Mrs. 4444 at Half-Past Kissin' Time, as well as fragments from her loyal followers! Just click on the logo below and hop over! Have a great weekend!

Chicago is a wonderful city! Visit the Art institute!
It sounds like things are going well and that you are making the most of your new home town. I'm so sorry you fell, but I'm glad the sidewalk caught you and you didn't actually fall off the face of the earth. :)
Oh, welcome to Chicagoland!
To which suburb are you moving?
I lived in N'ville for 30 years, and just moved to Aurora five years ago.
Moving. How I hate it. Which is why we are still in the same house we moved into in 1988. LOL So sorry you face planted! Hope all that was hurt was your pride. :) Enjoy your new place! Hope your doggie makes friends soon!
Glad to see you back! You will love Chicago, it's my kind of town too! Everything is laid out fairly easy too, and there is so much public transportation there, you don't even need your car all the time either....and walking to all the cool stuff...the fountains, Grant Park...that really cool water park...Field Museum...China town you name it...they have it!
Whoops to your fall, I hope you were not hurt much!
Yaaa to moving and getting to know your new home.
